Travel Medicine & BCG Vaccines: Online Booking

For all your travel medicine & immunisation needs

Appointment Availability

FITS Travel Medicine clinics are held multiple days a week across two sites:

  • Malvern – Travel consults & vaccines (adults & children), BCG vaccine consults
  • Narre Warren – BCG Vaccine consults ONLY

Please ensure you book early to avoid missing out, as appointment availability can be limited during peak periods.

Please ensure you read all the instructions below prior to booking.

What is the waitlist like at FITS Clinic like for BCG-specific appointments?

At FITS Clinic, we recognise that some patients may have an urgent need for travel vaccinations, whilst others can plan more flexibly.  To help you with your preparation, please see a guide below that depicts our current appointment wait times. Please note this guide is approximate and is updated regularly.

Travel appointments for adults or for those NOT requiring BCG vaccine may be available earlier and on demand – please contact us directly via live chat if you need an earlier appointment.

      Fees

For all travel consults, a non-refundable booking fee of $50 per person is payable at time of appointment booking (via credit card) to secure your appointment.

A valid referral is needed in order to ensure you receive a Medicare rebate from your travel medicine/immunisation consultation. The out of pocket cost (gap) for the consultation after receiving your Medicare rebate is approximately $150.

If your child requires a BCG vaccination, the cost of the vaccine is included within the consultation fee. Other travel vaccinations such as typhoid or yellow fever will incur additional fees.

Some patients may be required to attend a follow-up appointment which will be bulk billed (no out of pocket cost).

If additional family members (such as siblings) attend any appointment, they will be bulk billed (no out of pocket cost) for the consultation with a valid referral. However, a booking fee will still apply

If additional vaccines are recommended, these can be purchased on the day at FITS and administered by the FITS team.

      How do I book?

      1. Read our BCG FAQ page to understand what to expect before and after your child’s BCG vaccination. This information is available in more than 15 languages.
      2. Use the online booking form below, completing ALL fields, especially if your child has travelled before, or if they are also due for other vaccines (e.g. 12 or 18 month vaccines).
      3. Select the appropriate clinic location:
        • Malvern – for travel consults & vaccines (adult, children), BCG vaccine
        • Narre Warren – BCG vaccine (children) only
      4. Attach your referral to the booking form, or ask your GP to:
        • send a secure e-referral to unyokedhealth@argusnet.com (Argus) or unyokedh (Healthlink)
        • fax a referral to (03) 9508 6198
      5. Complete deposit payment using your credit card.
      6. Once your booking is submitted, the FITS team will review the booking and either approve it or contact you in the following 1-2 business days to adjust it based on the booking information.
      7. Your appointment is NOT confirmed until the deposit/appointment time has been finalised with confirmation email.

      Please note:

If your child has travelled overseas or been exposed to tuberculosis (TB) before, they may require a skin or Mantoux test prior to BCG vaccination. Please book an appointment on MONDAY to ensure that your child can be appropriately assessed.

If a Mantoux test is required, you will need to return for a repeat visit for delayed BCG vaccine administration (minimum of 48 hours after initial appointment) to allow for the Mantoux test to be read.
